Replace Death Metal (More Info)
Executioner: Good for tankier teams. Gives solid Attack Speed and shred for targets that take more than 1 or 2 autos to kill.
Magi's Cloak: Great for teams with a lot of CC. Can be a get-out-of-jail-free card for teams that can lock you down before even getting a taunt off.
Circe's Hexstone: Really fun and versitile item. Can use to engage or escape in games where you are getting blown up. The CC immunity on this item is awesome!
Ancile: Great for teams with a lot of Magic Damage. The active is great for peel or for guaranteeing a taunt off of a dash that hits someone without beads.
Helm of Darkness: Great for people that want to go in "Sneaky-Beaky Like". Does not give Strength, so it is more of a meme item, but a fun meme!
Build Rationale
Why the build works (More Info)
Athena excels at burning Purification Beads. Do not be afraid to taunt off cooldown, burn beads and retreat. You can come back and taunt again in 15 seconds. The build revolves around weaving Reach autos between abilities. Her dash scales off of strength, so don't be afraid to use it in a fight. Use ult to engage on backline in a fight already in progress or to chase someone low. This ult can put you out of position very easily, so use it wisely. Always better in comms.
Bumba's Hammer: Athena needs CDR and the passive helps with Reach damage.
Lernaean Bow: Use the low cooldown and activate constantly. Helps with early clear. Taunt basically guarantees hits and it will crit. Anti-heal is also a huge bonus!
Rage: Build early to evolve as soon as possible. It is cheap and gives insane value if evolved fast. Can be swapped with Hydra's if CDR is needed earlier.
Hydra's Lament: Core on any Athena Jungle build. Gives CDR and empowers Reach autos.
Death Metal: This is the most flexible item but gives great stats when active. Great for objective burn and buffing ADCs, which are already strong right now. Activate on objectives and as soon as you gank. Replace this item with the situational ones.
Deathbringer: Core Crit item. Crit more often and for way more damage. Pretty simple.
Titan's Bane: Every build needs Pen and this is the most efficient item for it.
Blink: Enables an engage without wasting your dash. You should play this build as a hit-and-run style assassin, and having your dash up may help you escape more often.
